Today is the birthday of the 2012 NDAA. Just one short year ago, all your rights disappeared with one stroke of Obama’s pen. Sections 1021 and 1022 of the 2012 NDAA give the President the ability to order the detention of U. S citizens indefinitely without trial if he suspects them of terrorism or of aiding terrorists. And this is to be carried out by the military! But Obama didn’t do it alone. He had a congress that was more than willing to go along with this torching of the Bill of Rights.Obama quietly waited until December 31, 2011 to sign the treasonous piece of legislation. This was a calculated move on his part, knowing that the nation would be preoccupied with the New Year’s Eve celebration. Obama knew it would be several days before the backlash from talk radio and alternative media could get ramped up. By then, he and his cronies could call it “old news.”
Many organizations, pundits, and politicians have pushed for a repeal of Sections 1021 and 1022, with their efforts proving to be an exercise in futility.
Obama originally claimed he wouldn’t sign the bill, then said he’d sign the bill, but would never use sections 1021 and 1022 against the American people.
I wouldn’t put anything past Obama, but even if he didn’t use the NDAA to detain U. S. citizens, the next President could be even more corrupt than he, and round up his or her political enemies and “disappear” them. Imagine, being kidnapped by your own government and held indefinitely, with no right to a trial and owing no explanation to your family. Sounds like China or North Korea, right? Well, we seem to be going down the path to totalitarianism the same way they did.
If Obama has no plans to illegally kidnap and detain American citizens, then why are his lawyers fighting so hard to keep sections 1021 and 1022 intact? On Sept. 12, Federal Judge Katherine B. Forrest issued a permanent injunction against section 1021, ruling it unconstitutional. Less than 24 hours later, Justice Department lawyers filed an appeal. It’s amazing how fast Obama could act to preserve his newfound powers, but in 4 years couldn’t get anything done that would improve the economy.
It’s apparent that Obama intends to expand his powers, regardless of the limits placed on the President by the Constitution.
If Obama continues to shred the Bill of Rights, freedom in these United States will become a distant memory. The sheeple in Great Britain and Australia have already started down the treacherous path to tyranny. Will America continue to follow their lead?
Obama is waiting for a “national emergency” or disaster to happen so he can grab more power in the form of Executive Orders or martial law. The dim-witted majority of Americans will have no problem with the President “taking control” so he can make them “safe again.”
There are many of us sounding the alarm, and many have woke up in the past year, but there is much work left to be done if we are going to save this Republic. Talk to your friends, co-workers, and family about the freedoms we stand to lose as a nation. Remind them that elections matter and their vote counts. Some will listen, some won’t. All you can do is try.
The devastating effects of unlimited quantitative easing, military campaigns worldwide, and Obamacare should be enough to shake everyone out of their entertainment-induced slumber.
I believe 2013 will be a year of awakening by the American people. But will it be too late?
